Build a 3D Bioprinter and Join Our Growing Network
This 3-day hands-on workshop will introduce individuals and teams to 3D printing of soft and biological materials; facilitate the assembly, operation and validation of an open source 3D bioprinting platform; and connect participants to a growing network of researchers working to advance 3D printing of soft and biological materials.
Program and Schedule
The program includes keynote presentations, tutorials related to the assembly and use of the 3D bioprinter, guided construction and testing of the 3D printers, as well as networking opportunities.
The program will run December 19-21, 2023, Tuesday to Thursday, with a daily schedule of 8:00 am to 7:00 pm.
Cost
A fee of $3000 per team (includes one participant) plus $300 for one additional participant from the same team (maximum of 4 participants from one team) is required for confirmed participants.
The fee includes all materials, instruction and support, one completed 3D bioprinter (per team), one LifeSupport kit, shipping of the bioprinter to the participant's home institution (additional fees may apply to ship the printer outside the US), lunch and snacks all 3 days of the workshop as well as evening networking activities.
Travel and overnight accommodations are not included. Recommendations in the area, including a discounted hotel option, will be provided to the selected applicants once participation is confirmed.
Application and Timeline
Applications for the 3D Bioprinting Open Source Workshop will be accepted until September 29, 2023. Selected applicants will be notified during the week of October 2nd and must respond to accept or decline the invitation to participate within one week. Payment is due upon acceptance. Space is limited. Wait listed applicants will be notified of their status and extended invitations as space allows.
Participation is once again open to US and international applicants, and contingent upon receipt of a signed participation agreement and full payment.
Please submit only one application per team, lab or research group. Selected applicants will be permitted to bring a maximum of 4 participants to the workshop.
Visitors Traveling from outside of the US.
Participants traveling from outside the US are required to follow all entry requirements defined by the US government, which should be checked prior to travel to ensure current requirements are met.
